Description

Gangliosides are neuraminic acid containing glycosphingolipids and represent characteristic constituents of the plasma membrane of eukaryotic cells. They are shed in the microenvironment and found as free components in plasma. In turn, free gangliosides are efficiently incorporated into the plasma cell membrane.
