Colorimetric GTPase Assay Kit 192Tests Summary: | | | | Specificity: | Colorimetric GTPase Assay Kit (192 tests)
The GTPase colorimetric assay kit employs a 96-well plate format with all reagents necessary for measuring GTPase activity. The kit contains specially purified Pi-free GTP to ensure the lowest possible background signals. It also contains PiColorLock Gold reagent (an improved malachite green formulation) with additives to prevent background signals arising out of nonenzymatic GTP hydrolysis. Assays can be read anywhere in the wavelength range 590-660nm.
Feature s that make the Colorimetric GTPase Assay Kit such a powerful tool:
- Stable signal
- High Linearity
- Low Background
- Very easy to use
- Colorimetric Assay
- Ultra-pure substrate
- Contains all reagents required for the assay

Background: Colorimetric assays for GTPases are invariably based on the formation of colored complexes between an inorganic phosphate and a dye molecule under acidic conditions. Such assays are beset with problems of reagent precipitation and high backgrounds caused by impure substrates (i.e. contaminated with inorganic phosphate) and/or by non-enzymatic (acid) hydrolysis of the substrate.
GTPase assay kits contain highly purified GTP, which have had any free inorganic phosphate removed - this means that assays have the lowest possible background signal.
Features:
- Very easy to use
- Ultra-pure substrate
- Low Background
- Colorimetric Assay
- High Linearity
- Stable signal
- Contains all reagents required for the assay
