Application Notes
The antibody has been tested by ELISA and Western blot analysis to assure specificity and reactivity. Since application varies, however, each investigation should be titrated by the reagent to obtain optimal results. Recommended dilution range for Western blot analysis is 1:500 ~ 3000. Recommended starting dilution is 1:500

Reactivity Notes

Please note that this antibody is reactive to Mouse and derived from the same host, Mouse. Additional Mouse on Mouse blocking steps may be required for IHC and ICC experiments. Please contact Technical Support for more information.

TTR encodes transthyretin, a circulating and abundant tetramer that functions as a carrier protein of thyroid hormone and retinol binding protein. Transthyretin(TTR) is mainly produced in the liver, but also in the brain and eye. Mutations in TTR cause the protein to dissociate into monomers that after misfolding assemble into amyloid fibrils deposits in a diversity of organs. TTR is also the only gene known to be associated with familial TTR amyloidosis. Familial transthyretin (TTR) amyloidosis is characterized by a slowly progressive peripheral sensorimotor neuropathy and autonomic neuropathy as well as non-neuropathic changes of cardiomyopathy, nephropathy, vitreous opacities, and CNS amyloidosis.

FAQs for Transthyretin/Prealbumin Antibody (NBP1-74022). (Showing 1 - 1 of 1 FAQ).

  1. For my purposes it is important to find antibodies that are specific for a single Exon. The transthyretin protein is 147aa long (Exon 1 is aa 1-23 / Exon 2 is aa 24-67 / Exon 3 is aa 68-112 / Exon 4 is aa 113-147). Would it be possible to provide me with the amino acid sequence of the epitope for NBP1-74022?
    • NBP1-74022 is not epitope mapped. It is made to the full length protein.
