• Immunogen: Peptide sequence C-AAGQNGHEEWVG corresponding to the N-terminus of TRADD (NP_700474).
• Specificity: NB100-63244 recognizes tumour necrosis factor receptor 1-associated death domain protein (TRADD) isoform 2, a 28kDa death domain containing protein. TRADD is expressed in most tissues. It mediates programmed cell death signalling and NF-kappa beta activation through interaction with tumour necrosis factor receptor superfamily, member 1A. By binding the adaptor protein TRAF2, TRADD reduces the recruitment of inhibitor-of-apoptosis proteins, inhibiting TRAF2 mediated apoptosis. TRADD is also involved in the Fas-induced cell death pathway via its interaction with tumour necrosis factor receptor superfamily, member-6/FAS and adaptor protein FADD/MORT1.

Background

TRADD [tumor necrosis factor receptor type 1-associated (TNFR1) death domain protein] is a death domain containing adaptor molecule that interacts with TNFR1/TNFRSF1A and mediates programmed cell death signaling and NF-kB activation (reviewed in Feng, 2005). TRADD binds adaptor protein TRAF2, reduces the recruitment of inhibitor-of-apoptosis proteins (IAPs) by TRAF2, and thereby suppresses TRAF2 mediated apoptosis. TRADD can also interact with receptor TNFRSF6/FAS and adaptor protein FADD/MORT1, and is involved in the Fas-induced cell death pathway. This antibody recognizes TRADD; human TRADD is a 312 amino acid protein.
