Human TGF-beta 2 Biologically Active Protein Summary

A biologically active protein to TGFB2.Source: E. coli
Novus' biologically active proteins are stringently purified to provide only the safest and most highly effective proteins available. This protein was expressed in E. coli, purified by HPLC, QC tested by SDS-PAGE and Western Blot and validated on appropriate cell lines for bioactivity. All HPLC and bioactivity data is provided for your assurance.
Details of Functionality
The ED50, as determined by inhibiting the IL-4-dependent proliferation using murine HT-2 cells, is typically less than 0.25 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Note
Less than 1 EU/mg of the rHuTGF-b2 as determined by LAL method.

Packaging, Storage & Formulations

Store at 4C short term. Aliquot and store at -20C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution Instructions
Reconstitute with 4 mM HCl to a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.

Theoretical MW
25.4 kDa

This lyophilized preparation is stable at 2-8 degrees C, but should be kept at -20 degrees C for long term storage, preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is most stable at -20 to -80 degrees C, and can be stored for one week at 2-8 degrees C. For maximal stability, apportion the reconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20 degrees C to -80 degrees C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

TGF-b2 is a pleiotropic cytokine that regulates immune function, cellular proliferation, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition. It shows cross-species activity in the development of cardiac, lung, craniofacial, limb, eye, ear, and urogenital systems. Latent TGF-b is activated by proteolytic cleavage of the mature cytokine from the latency-associated peptide. TGF-b2 signaling involves the accessory receptor Betaglycan, TGF-b RII, and a type I TGF-b receptor, resulting in the activation of Smad signal transduction.
