Synthetic peptide, C-SRHSSGPRRNRDT, representing the internal region of the human protein according to NP_001392.2; NP_476500.1
Please note, this product is one of a range of Investigative Grade antibodies, made against targets that have limited or no commercial antibodies available to them and for which there are no data on the expression of the protein in the range of common cell lines and tissues available to us. These antibodies are affinity purified using their peptide immunogen and are known to give low background staining in a western blot. However no additional claims are made for their ability to recognise native protein in any application.

Application Notes
Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:4000. Western Blot: Preliminary experiments in lysates of Human Brain, Mouse Brain and Rat Brain and of cell lines HEK193, A549 and HepG2 gave no specific signal but low background (at antibody concentration up to 1ug/ml). We would appreciate any feedback from people in the field - have any results been reported with other antibodies/lysates?

EDG2 belongs to a family of G-protein coupled receptors whose ligands are lysophospholipids. There are eight known members of the EDG receptor family and they are implicated in mediating growth-related effects such as induction of cellular proliferation, alterations in differentiation and survival, and suppression of apoptosis. They also evoke cellular effector functions that are dependent on cytoskeletal responses such as contraction, secretion, adhesion and chemotaxis. EDG receptors are developmentally regulated and differ in tissue distribution. They couple to multiple types of G proteins to signal through ras and MAP kinase, rho, phospholipase C, and several proteins not used within 12 hours. Edg2 has been reported in most human tissues, and is especially abundant in brain cortical regions. ESTs have been isolated from bone, brain, breast, connective tissue, embryo, heart/melanocyte/uterus, lung, prostate and uterus libraries.
