Recombinant Mouse IL-5 Protein Summary
A Partial Recombinant Proteins to IL-5.
Insect cells infected with baculovirus: amino acids Met 21- Gly 133 of mouse IL-5 (accession # NM_010558).
|Details of Functionality
The ED50 measured in a TF-1 proliferation assay is typically 100 pg/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of approximately 1x10^7Units/mg.
| Protein/Peptide Type
Partial Recombinant Protein
Less than 0.01 ng/ug cytokine as determined by the LAL assay.
This recombinant mouse IL-5 has been tested by sandwich ELISA using the anti-mouse IL-5 antibody pair (TRFK5/TRFK4), and in bioassays using the IL-5 responsive human cell line TF-1.
This protein was made to the mouse sequence.

Alternate Names for Recombinant Mouse IL-5 Protein

- B-cell differentiation factor I
- Eosinophil differentiation factor
- IL-5T-cell replacing factor
- interleukin 5 (colony-stimulating factor, eosinophil)
- TRFB cell differentiation factor I
Recombinant mouse IL-5 is a disulfide-linked homodimer, containing two 113 amino acid peptides these resolve as 32-34 kDa bands in SDS-PAGE. IL-5 is produced by T cells and has been known as eosinophil-differentiating factor (EDF), B cell growth factor II (BCGFII), and T cell-replacing factor (TRF). IL-5 induces eosinophil differentiation and promotes eosinophil survival and activation. In mice, IL-5 has been shown to stimulate B cell proliferation and antibody production.
