Recombinant Human IL-13 Protein Summary
A partial protein corresponding to IL13.
E. coli expressed amino acids Gly 21-Leu 132 of mature human IL-13 (accession #NM_002188).
|Details of Functionality
Measured by human TF-1 cell proliferation assay. The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of TF-1 cells is typically 1.0-5.0 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 0.2-1.0 x 10^6 Units/mg.
| Protein/Peptide Type
Partial Recombinant Protein
Less than 0.01 ng/ug cytokine as determined by the LAL assay.
This recombinant human IL-13 has been tested by a sandwich ELISA using the anti-human IL-13 ELISA antibody pair (PVM13-1 / polyclonal anti-human IL-13), and in bioassays using the IL-13 responsive cell line TF-1.
This protein was made to the human sequence.

Alternate Names for Recombinant Human IL-13 Protein
- interleukin 13
Human interleukin-13 (IL-13), also known as NC30, is a 12.5 kDa protein secreted by activated T helper cells, CD8+ T cells, and NK cells. The biological activities of IL-13 include suppression of macrophage cytotoxic activity, upregulation of IL-1RA expression and suppression of inflammatory cytokine expression.
