• Immunogen: Mouse IgG. The antibody was isolated by affinity chromatography using antigen coupled to agarose beads and conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP).

• Specificity: By immunoelectrophoresis and ELISA this reacts specifically with mouse IgG and with light chains common to other mouse immunoglobulins. No was detected against nonimmunoglobulin serum proteins. This may cross react with IgG from other species.

Background

Immunoglobulin G (IgG), is one of the most abundant proteins in human serum with normal levels between 8-17 mg/ml in adult blood. IgG is important for our defence against microorganisms and the molecules are produced by B lymphocytes as a part of our adaptive immune response. The IgG molecule has two separate functions; to bind to the pathogen that elicited the response and to recruit other cells and molecules to destroy the antigen. The variability of the IgG pool is generated by somatic recombination and the number of specificities in an individual at a given time point is estimated to be 10¹¹ variants.

1. The product was accidentally placed in a freezer for 2 hours. Will the product be affected?
   • It is possible that the activity of the product may be affected by this short time in the freezer as we recommend storing the product at 4 degrees Celsius and not freezing.
