This gene encodes a member of the chaperonin family. The encoded mitochondrial protein may function as a signaling molecule in the innate immune system. This protein is essential for the folding and assembly of newly imported proteins in the mitochondria. This gene is adjacent to a related family member and the region between the 2 genes functions as a bidirectional promoter. Two pseudogenes, both located on chromosome 8, have been associated with this gene. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified for this gene. Mutations associated with this gene cause autosomal recessive spastic paraplegia 13. [provided by RefSeq]. Transcript Variant: This variant (1) represents the longer transcript. Both variants 1 and 2 encode the same protein. Publication Note: This RefSeq record includes a subset of the publications that are available for this gene. Please see the Entrez Gene record to access additional publications.

Customer Experience using HSP60 Antibody
I began using the HSP60 antibody (NB110-57063) in June of 2010 and it worked well. I do not like to buy antibodies that have not been tested in the species for which I will use them, so I picked this antibody because it had already been tested in rat...  Read full blog post.
