Hepatitis C Virus Antibody (TORDJI-22) Summary
Human plasma membrane
This antibody recognises a cytoplasmic antigen of human Hepatitis C virus; it does not appear to cross react with either Hepatitis A or Heptatitis B virus as shown by immunohistochemistry. In Western Blotting NB100-65708 is specific for the HCV NS4 protein.

Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin, Immunofluorescence, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry-Frozen, ELISA. In WB detects a band of approximately 130 kDa in platelet lysates. Megakaryocytes and platelets are labeled in sections of decalcified bone without pretreatment and with pretreatment using protease type XXIV (0.5 mg/ml). HIER (microwave, citrate buffer pH 6.0) may give superior results.

HCV is a positive, single-stranded RNA virus in the Flaviviridae family. The genome is approximately 10,000 nucleotides and encodes a single polyprotein of about 3,000 amino acids. The polyprotein is processed by host cell and viral proteases into three major structural proteins including NS3, and several non-structural proteins necessary for viral replication.
The NS3 part of the polyprotein displays three enzymatic activities: serine protease, NTPase and RNA helicase.

FAQs for Hepatitis C Virus Antibody (NB100-65708). (Showing 1 - 1 of 1 FAQ).
We are testing the antibody Hepatitis C Virus Antibody (TORDJI-22) in liver biopsies and we have identified cytoplasmic and nuclear liver cells and lymphocytes immunoreaction. We would like to ask the correct reaction location since we couldn't find any information about it in the datasheet, and mainly known if this immunoreaction found in lymphocytes has a important meaning in the context.
- This antibody is believed to bind the NS4 protein of HCV and is known to give cytoplasmic staining. Furthermore, HCV is known to infect lymphocytes (Wikipedia), so seeing this reactivity in your samples is to be expected.
