Fibulin 1 is a secreted glycoprotein that becomes incorporated into a fibrillar extracellular matrix. Calcium-binding is apparently required to mediate its binding to laminin and nidogen. It mediates platelet adhesion via binding fibrinogen. Four splice variants which differ in the 3' end have been identified. Each variant encodes a different isoform, but no functional distinctions have been identified among the four variants. [provided by RefSeq]

FAQs for Fibulin 1 Recombinant Protein (H00002192-P01). (Showing 1 - 2 of 2 FAQ).

  1. Hi, I would like to know more about the Human FBLN-1 recombinant protein. What cell expression system was used to obtain the protein, and also, how much is freight to Melbourne Australia? Your response will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
    • This protein is produced by a Taiwanese company called Abnova and we distribute it for them. Their proteins are produced in a cell-free wheat germ system with an N-terminal 26kDa GST-tag. Due to this expression system, in our experience, the proteins do not always undergo the same folding and post-transnational modifications they might undergo in an endogenous cell. Because of this, we do not recommend this protein for use in functional assays and do not guarantee them for this use. They are mainly intended for use in Western Blots as a positive control with their antibody. As far as pricing to Australia, you will need to contact Sapphire Bioscience, our Australian distributor.
  2. I'm interested in your Fibulin 1 Recombinant Protein (H00002192-P01); however, on the datasheet I cannot find which is the source for this recombinant (E.coli, Yeast, etc)? Also, could you confirm that this recombinant correspond to a Fibulin 1 isoform C?
    • These products you are interested in are products we distribute for Abnova. We therefore do not preform any in-house testing or development of their products. The Fibulin 1 recombinant protein was raised in a cell free wheat germ system. It was made to the full length isoform C Fibulin 1 protein. I will include a link to Abnova's description of the cell free wheat germ system.
