BALB/C mice were injected with recombinant human interleukin-2 receptor.
This antibody is specific to a 55 kDa protein known as interleukin 2-receptor (IL-2R alpha). IL-2R alpha is over expressed on the surface of activated T cells, HTLV-1 or HTLV-2 positive T cell lines. It is moderately expressed on activated B cells, NK-cells, and macrophages.
Protein A or G purified

Immunohistochemistry: use for 30 mins (ABC method) on paraffin-embedded sections. Formalin fixed paraffin embedded sections require antigen retrieval unmasking with EDTA buffer pH 8.0 for 30 min at RT prior to staining. Use on frozen sections was reported in scientific literature (PMID: 22665223). Positive control for IHC is Tonsil tissue. This antibody has also been reported to work in ICC/IF in mouse (PMID:22009917).
Please note that this antibody is reactive to Mouse and derived from the same host, Mouse. Additional Mouse on Mouse blocking steps may be required for IHC and ICC experiments. Please contact Technical Support for more information.

The Interleukin 2 Receptor alpha and beta chains, together with the common gamma chain, constitute the high affinity IL2 receptor present on activated T and B cells, thymocyte subset, pre B cells and T regulatory cells. Homodimeric alpha chains result in low affinity receptor, while homodimeric beta chains produce a medium affinity receptor. Normally an integral membrane protein, soluble IL2 Receptor alpha has been isolated and determined to result from extracellular proteolyisis. Alternately spliced IL2 Receptor alpha mRNAs have been isolated, but the significance of each is presently unknown.
