Human BMP-5 Recombinant Protein Summary
A disulfide-linked homodimeric protein consisting two 138 residues glycosylated chains and corresponding to amino acids Ala317 - His454 of BMP5 (P22003).
Source: CHO cell line
Lyophilized from 0.2 mm filtered concentrated solution in 4 mM HCl.
|Details of Functionality
The ED50, as determined by inducing alkaline phosphatase production using mouse ATDC5 cells, is less than 1.2 mg/mL.
| Protein/Peptide Type
Less than 1 EU/mg of the rHuBMP-5 as determined by LAL method.
Packaging, Storage & Formulations
Store at 4C short term. Aliquot and store at -20C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Centrifuge prior to opening. Reconstitute with 4 mM HCl to a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml. Further dilutions should be made in appropriately buffered solutions.
This lyophilized preparation is stable at 2-8 degrees C, but should be kept at -20 degrees C for long term storage, preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is most stable at -20 to -80 degrees C, and can be stored for one week at 2-8 degrees C. For maximal stability, apportion the reconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20 degrees C to -80 degrees C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Alternate Names for Human BMP-5 Recombinant Protein
- bone morphogenetic protein 5
Bone Morphogenetic Protein-5 (BMP-5) is a TGF-b superfamily cytokine that forms 40 kDa disulfide-linked homodimers. It signals through hetero-oligomeric complexes of type I and type II serine/threonine kinase receptors. BMP-5 promotes chondrocyte proliferation and differentiation, ovarian granulosa cell proliferation, dopaminergic neuronal differentiation, and dendrite outgrowth.
