Recombinant Mouse BMP-4 Protein Summary

A biologically active protein to BMP4.Source: CHO
Novus' biologically active proteins are stringently purified to provide only the safest and most highly effective proteins available. This protein was expressed in CHO, purified by HPLC, QC tested by SDS-PAGE and Western Blot and validated on appropriate cell lines for bioactivity. All HPLC and bioactivity data is provided for your assurance.
Details of Functionality
The ED50, as determined by inducing alkaline phosphatase production using murine ATDC5 cells, is less than 40 ng/ml.
Protein/Peptide Type
Biologically Active Protein
Endotoxin Note
Less than 1 EU/mg of the rMuBMP-4 as determined by LAL method.

Theoretical MW
26.2 kDa.
Disclaimer note: The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors.

Packaging, Storage & Formulations

Store at 4C short term. Aliquot and store at -20C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution Instructions
Reconstitute with 4 mM HCl to a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.

This lyophilized preparation is stable at 2-8 degrees C, but should be kept at -20 degrees C for long term storage, preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is most stable at -20 to -80 degrees C, and can be stored for one week at 2-8 degrees C. For maximal stability, apportion the reconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20 degrees C to -80 degrees C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

BMP-4 plays an important role in mesenchyme formation, epidermal determination, suppression of neural induction, development of multiple organs, and tissue repair. Mature BMP-4 forms homodimers and heterodimers with BMP-7. BMP-4/BMP-7 heterodimers show greater potency at osteogenic differentiation compared to BMP-4 homodimers. The bioavailability of BMP-4 is regulated by its interaction with multiple proteins and glycosaminoglycans.
