Zahn's Infarct: Disease Bioinformatics

Zahn’s Infract is a pseudo-infarction of the liver. Infarction is when necrosis occurs due to lack of oxygen caused by an obstruction of the blood supply necessary to a particular tissue. Zahn’s Infract is different because the infarction here has the same congestion with parenchymal atrophy but without any necrosis. An obstruction of the portal vein is what causes Zahn’s Infarct.
