Steatohepatitis: Disease Bioinformatics

Steatohepatitis, also known as fatty liver disease, is inflammation of the liver with concurrent fat accumulation in the liver. Steatohepatitis has been seen frequently in alcoholics, as well as people with diabetes and obesity. Treatment of steatohepatitis includes diet, exercise, and drugs, but steatohepatitis can progress to cirrhosis or liver failure in some cases. There is no cure for steatohepatitis, but the disease can be prevented by maintaining a healthy weight, avoiding excessive amounts of alcohol and medicines.
