Meningitis Histoplasma: Disease Bioinformatics

Meningitis causes inflammation of the meninges which is the protective membranes surrounding the in the brain and spinal cord. The inflammation is caused by an infection in the fluid surrounding the brain or spinal. Histoplasma is a genus of fungi often found in bird and bat droppings. Histoplasma is most commonly found in the Mississippi and Ohio River Valleys, but people that are infected rarely notice. Sometimes, Histoplasma Meningitis can develop in people exposed to Histoplasma. Even though being exposed to Histoplasma isn’t serious, Histoplasma Meningitis can be severe for some people.
