The symptoms of meningitis are high fever, headache, nausea, and stiff neck. Depending on the type of meningitis, antibiotics will likely be used to treat the infection. To prevent meningitis, the Hib vaccine is frequently used in children to prevent some types of bacterial meningitis. The Hib vaccine along with the PCV7 vaccine is often used in the regular immunization schedule of young children.
