The pain felt by Levator Syndrome is caused by the spasm of the levator ani muscle. The pain typically lasts only twenty minutes, but in some cases, it can last several hours and happen frequently. Treatment of Levator Syndrome includes warm baths, massages of the rectal region, and electrogalvanic stimulation.
