Bacillus anthracis spreads through the bloodstream from the primary focus of infection causing the Hemorrhagic Meningitis. With a 96% mortality rate, Hemorrhagic Meningitis caused by anthrax is rapidly fatal with 75% of patients dying within the first 24 hours.
