Coronary Artery Vasospasm: Disease Bioinformatics

Coronary Artery Vasospasm is when the hearts arteries suddenly tighten which limits the amount of blood flow to the heart. Smoking, high cholesterol, alcohol withdrawal, emotional stress, and exposure to cold can all cause Coronary Artery Vasospasm. Coronary Artery Vasospasm commonly presents itself as chest pain, but it can also go undetected. Coronary Artery Vasospasm can also cause people to lose consciousness or to have a heart attack if the spasm lasts long enough. Nitroglycerin can be used to relieve the chest pain and prevent a heart attack. Coronary Artery Vasospasm is a chronic condition in which spasms will occur around the same time every day.
