Choriomanionitis is a condition of pregnant women when their fetal membranes become inflamed due to a bacterial infection. This rare infection of Choriomanionitis can cause further infections in both the mother and infant, and often times, it leads to premature birth. If a woman’s amniotic sac has been ruptured, she has a fever, and she and her baby’s heart rates are too high, a doctor may suspect the woman to have Choriamnionitis.
