Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia: Disease Bioinformatics

Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia (CIN) is a premalignant abnormal growth of cells in the uterine cervix. Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia can be diagnosed through a Pap Smear or a biopsy, and often times, the condition does not worsen. Sometimes, however, CIN develops into cervical cancer. Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia is most often caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) infection.
