Hairy Cell Leukemia is characterized by abnormal B lymphocytes. This specific form of leukemic is vry uncommon and only makes up around 2% of all leukemias. Hairy Cell Leukemia is an easily controlled chronic lymphoproliferative disorder. Many patients that are diagnosed need little to no therapy, if the patient is asymptomatic with acceptable blood count, they will not need therapy. Because this form of leukemia is so highly treatable, many patients have prolonged survival.
