Acute Monocytic Leukemia is a rare form of Acute Myeloid Leukemia that affects all age groups, to be diagnosed with Acute Monocytic Leukemia the bone marrow must consist of greater than 20% blasts and of these blasts 80% of them have to be from monocytic lineage. Acute Monocytic Leukemia is often associated with chromosomal abnormalities, specifically with Chromosome 11 affecting the MNN locus. Treatment includes intensive chemotherapy or a bone marrow transplant.
