Immunoglobulin G (IgG) is an antibody molecule composed of four peptide chains that contain two antigen binding sites. Plasma B cells synthesize and secrete IgG molecules, which is a part of the secondary immune system and can bind to many types of pathogens. There are four IgG subclasses; IgG2b is a member of the 2nd subclass, which is the second most prevalent subclass in blood serum.
