Octopamine Products

Description

Octopamine is the insect equivalent of adrenalin (Epinephrine). Mammals only have low levels of Octopamine in their nervous system. It differs by only one hydroxyl group from adrenalin. In insects, Octopamine controls survival mechanisms and regulates many other behaviour patterns. Remove Octopamine and you get very confused insects. Octopamine is involved in the transmission of nerve signals across the synapses. Blockers of Octopamine receptors have been targeted as potential pesticides with minimal impact on mammals.
