Novus Biologicals Releases New SIRT1 Antibody Developed with Genomic Antibody Technology(TM)

Novus Biologicals just released a new SIRT1 antibody (catalog number NBP1-49540) for the study of apoptosis, epigenetics and autophagy.  This SIRT1 antibody was developed using SDIX's Genomic Antibody TechnologyTM (GATTM).

Novus' new rabbit polyclonal anti-SIRT1 antibody cross-reacts with human and is useful for Western blot and immunohistochemistry. By Western blot in HeLa whole cell extracts, a clear band is visualized at approximately 105kDa.

SIRT1, a Histone deacetylase (HDAC), is the human homologue of Sir2, a protein in S. cerevisiae that functions in transcriptional silencing by deacetylating Histone H3 and Histone H4. In response to DNA damage, SIRT1 binds and deacetylates p53 at C-terminal Lys382 residue and attenuate p53-mediated functions. In mammalian cells, SIRT1 appears to control the cellular stress response by regulating the FOXO family of forkhead transcription factors.

This new SIRT-1 antibody was produced with GAT. GAT uses sophisticated bioinformatics and immunization strategies to produce high-quality antibodies that specifically bind to that region of the protein in its naturally folded form. The ability of any antibody to recognize a protein’s naturally folded state has the potential to expand an antibody’s utility to high-value applications like sandwich immunoassay, ChIP, and flow cytometry.  Learn more about GAT by reading the GAT FAQ or by downloading the GAT White Paper.

Novus offers additional epigenetics research tools and HDAC antibodies, including: HDAC1 antibodies, HDAC3 antibodies, HDAC9 antibodies, and more.
