Biologically Active Proteins
NovActive™ recombinant proteins are the world’s first biorisk-free growth factors and cytokines. These proteins are produced using a eukaryotic, barley grain host. NovActive™ proteins are fully active, fully folded, and have all post-translational modifications. NovActive™ proteins lack endotoxins because barley seed is void of any human or animal viral contaminants that could jeopardize cell cultures and its environment is biologically inert, thus, they have low protease activity and secondary metabolite content. In addition, NovActive™ proteins have been approved by the FDA as G.R.A.S. (generally recognized as safe). NovActive’s™ low cost, ready-to-use state, and biological activity make them an ideal tool for stem cell research. Many, such as our murine LIF (leukemia inhibitory factor) come in multiple package sizes.
