Neurodegeneration
Neurodegeneration is an overarching term used to describe the progressive loss of the structure and/or function of neurons. Neurodegenerative conditions, such as Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimer's Disease, Huntington's Disease and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, occur as a result if the neurodegenerative process. Parallels between these conditions include atypical protein assemblage and induction of cell death.
