Growth and Development
Cellular development and growth is a very important area of research. The many proteins that are involved in differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis, and survival are important for the maintenance of healthy cells, and provide checkpoints for development. Mutations in these pathways can cause tumor formation and other diseases. Major proteins include Survivin, 14-3-3, EGF, VEGF, and Notch.
