Background:

The actins are highly conserved proteins that are involved in cell motility, structure and integrity. This monoclonal antibody reacts to six known vertebrate isoforms of actin (MW ~42 kDa) (Three alpha-actin: skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscle; one beta-actin and two gamma-actins). It also reacts with two cytoplasmic actins which are highly homologus to one another but which differ from the muscle actins at about 25 amino acid residues. This antibody reacts to human, Cow, Mouse, Dog, Pig, Rabbit, Rat, Chicken, Dictyostelium discoideum, Physarum polycephalum. Others-not known. This antibody can be used for monitoring total protein load on Western blots.

	WB: pan Actin Antibody (SPM161) [NBP1-74558] - Cell lysate from Hela was resolved onto 10% SDS-PAGE, transferred onto NC Membrane, then probed by Mouse Anti-Pan-Actin antibody at 1:500. An immunereactive band around 42-kDa is observed.
