ACTH occurs in cells of the anterior pituitary and in neurons in brain. It regulates the corticosteroid production in the adrenal cortex. Beta endorphin and Met enkephalin are endogenous opiates. MSH (melanocyte stimulating hormone) increases the pigmentation of skin by increasing melanin production in melanocytes.
Nuclear Receptors, Coactivators and Corepressors, IHC Grade

Synthetic human ACTH 1-24.
Isotype:
n/a
Specificity:
This antibody reacts with human ACTH. It cross reacts with ACTH in a wide variety of mammalian species. Traces of contaminating antibodies have been removed by solid phase absorption.

Human. Not tested in other species. Other species have not been tested.
Uses:
This antibody has been pretitered and quality controlled to work on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded as well as acetone fixed cryostat tissue sections. No further titration is required. We suggest an incubation period of 30-60 minutes at room temperature. However, depending upon the fixation conditions and the staining system employed, optimal incubation should be determined by the user. Other applications have not been tested.
