Background:

ACTH occurs in cells of the anterior pituitary and in neurons in brain. It regulates the corticosteroid production in the adrenal cortex. Beta endorphin and Met enkephalin are endogenous opiates. MSH (melanocyte stimulating hormone) increases the pigmentation of skin by increasing melanin production in melanocytes.

Specificity:

This antibody reacts with human ACTH. This antibody cross reacts with ACTH in a wide variety of mammalian species. Traces of contaminating antibodies have been removed by solid phase absorption.

Uses:

This antibody may be diluted to a titer of 1:50-1:250 in an ABC method. We suggest an incubation period of 30 minutes at room temperature. Suitable for formalin/paraffin tissues.
