LIPID AND METABOLISM NEWSLETTER - 1st Edition
Spotlight on SCD1 SCD1 controls glucose-mediated lipogenesis by modulating the rate of synthesis of fatty acids. The conversion of glucose into lipogenic substrates is a critical metabolic event in cancer cells. The inactivation of SCD1 reduces cancer cell proliferation and in vitro invasiveness and impairs tumor formation and growth (JBC 280: 25339-25349, 2005).
Western blot of SCD1 on normal human live using NBP1-26393.
New Products SREBP1 SREBP (Sterol Regulatory Element Binding Protein) 1 and 2 are transcription factors which participate in the control of cholesterol homeostasis. SREBP proteins, which are attached to the endoplasmic reticulum and nuclear envelope, are proteolytically cleaved and thus activated in response to conditions of low cellular sterol. SREBPs may also play some role in apoptotic processes. More

Coming Soon: Customer Reviews Published on our Website LDL Receptor Antibody [NB110-57162]
This antibody was given five stars in a customer review submitted July 30, 2009. The customer said “so far [this is] the best antibody for LDL receptor. I did try a bunch of them (from Abcam for example without success).” The customer tested this LDL Receptor antibody in Hep2 and HepG2 cell lines at a 1:500 dilution, using liver extract as a positive control, and achieved a specific band at 150 kDa.
