The mission of Novus Biologicals, LLC is to accelerate scientific discovery by developing and marketing unique products in the forefront of science. Novus Biologicals was organized to provide the biological research community with a mechanism for commercializing unique biological materials. We also focus on continually monitoring scientific trends and supply materials to serve these trends. By making these products widely available to institutional and commercial researchers, Novus Biologicals plays an important role in furthering biological research.

All of Novus Biologicals products are supplied with detailed technical information and ongoing support. By serving niche and emerging markets, Novus Biologicals has become specialists in markets and has formed and will continue to form ongoing partnerships with our customers.

• Karen Padgett

  President and Founder

  Karen has an MBA from The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a BS in Microbiology from Indiana University. Karen was Director of Business Development for a small biological company prior to forming Novus.  In her spare time she enjoys reading, traveling, golfing and spending time with her family. 

• Todd Padgett

  CFO

  CFO Todd has an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, a CPA and a BS in Finance from Indiana University. Prior to joining Novus in 2000, Todd worked in the telecom and natural gas industry.

• Bryan Tinsley

  VP Marketing

  Bryan has an MBA and a BS in Microbiology from Virginia Tech. Prior to joining Novus in 1998 he worked for a Japanese reagent firm and has 16 years reagent and antibody experience. Bryan enjoys experiencing the outdoors with his family.

• Mark Long

  Novus Europe Divisional Manager

  Mark has a BA in Business Management from Leeds University Business School in England. Prior to joining Novus, Mark  was head of Marketing for 8 years at a medium-sized Biological Company. Mark enjoys golf, skiing, swimming, car racing, reading, theatre, playing piano and his children.

• Dr. Mark Parker

  Senior Scientist and Head of Product Development

  Mark has a BS in Microbiology from Indiana University and a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Denver. His post-doctoral fellowship was done in the Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology department at the University of Colorado-Boulder.

• Zachary Kiebler

  VP Strategic Relationship Management

  Zach has an MBA from the University of Colorado Graduate School of Business and received his undergraduate degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He also completed the Bard Center for Entreperneurship's program for entrepreneurial studies. He worked for six years as a professional research assistant in an NIH funded lab. In his free time, Zach enjoys hiking, skiing, and reading.

• Scott Osgood

  VP of IT

  Scott has an MBA and a BS in Computer Information Systems from the University of Colorado at Denver. Prior to joining Novus, Scott held senior technology positions at several companies in the Denver area. Scott enjoys spending time with his family and, time permitting, hitting the links.

• Chandra Gottschling

  Antibody Project Manager

  Chandra has a BS in Biology with a Minor in Economics from the University of New Mexico. Before joining Novus in 2005 she worked in accounting and office management. Chandra enjoys reading, snowboarding, camping, and spending time with her family.

• Dawn Esquibel

  Accounting Manager

  In addition to accounting, Dawn loves taking care of Karen and Todd's dogs.

• Amanda Jaramillo

  Customer Service Manager

  Amanda has a BA in History with a minor in Political Science from the Metropolitan State College of Denver. Prior to joining Novus, Amanda worked in health care and the legal field. In her spare time she enjoys playing sports and outdoor activities.

• Todd Young

  Shipping Manager

  Todd has 12 years experience in regional operations in regards to distribution and transportation. In his spare time Todd enjoys playing basketball, softball and golf. Todd also enjoys jeeping with his family.

• David Walden

  Operations Executive (Novus Europe)

  David has been in the customer service industry for the last 15 years working in the prestige market. In his free time he enjoys spending time with family and making furniture.

• Kendra Repstine

  Financial Report Manager

  Kendra has been working with Novus for the past seven years. She also has been attending Arapahoe Community college for the past two years working towards her Accounting degree. Kendra worked in early childhood education before joining Novus. She enjoys spending her weekends with her family wakeboarding at the lake, camping and watching the Denver Broncos.

• Rachel Giesler

  Financial Analyst

  Rachel has a BA from the University of Colorado at Boulder in Biochemistry and Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology.  She joined Novus in 2008 as an intern while completing her MBA at the University of Denver.  Following graduation she joined the Novus team full-time.  In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

• Monica LaHaye

Licensing Associate

Monica has a BS in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara.  Prior to joining Novus, Monica worked as a Licensing Coordinator at a  biotechnology company in California.  In her spare time, Monica enjoys snowboarding, hiking, traveling and cooking.

• Josh Youmans

  Domestic Shipping

  Josh has 12 years experience in the logistics industry.  During his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, playing softball, golfing and hiking.

• Phil Rooke

  Shipping Representative

  Phil previously worked as a shipping representative for a small biological company. In his free time he is writing and recording music for my first solo CD, Dirtbike riding and having his new Welsh Corgi puppy "Morgan" train him.

• Janet Whiting

  International Shipping Representative

  Janet is currently working toward receiving her Bachelors in Business Administration with a minor in marketing from Regis University. Previously she worked for a graphics company in Fort Collins CO. She likes to spend her free time with friends and family, hiking with her dog, snowboarding, and traveling.

• Amy Chamberlain-Torres

  Product Marketing Manager

  Amy has an MBA and a BS in Biology from the University of Denver. Amy began her career at Novus as a technician in the antibody lab.  She then transitioned onto the marketing team as the Product Marketing Manager. In her spare time, Amy enjoys skiing, being outdoors, cooking and traveling.

• Kim Mesman

  Marketing Manager

  Kim holds a BFA in Graphic Design and a Minor in Business Management from Louisiana Tech University. Kim has been a designer and freelancer for over five years for various companies in California before recently moving to Colorado in the fall of 2005. She can be found on weekends skiing with her husband, Trey or hiking with her dogs, Pomeranian, Boo and Lab/Chow Mix, Lucy.

• Sean Brunner

  Search Engine Marketing Specialist

  Sean holds a BS in Business Administration from Colorado State University.  Sean has experience developing and executing niche online marketing strategies.  In his spare time, Sean enjoys hiking, cycling and spending time with his family and friends.

• Kelsey Stockbridge

  Marketing Assistant

  Prior to joing the Novus team in 2009, Kelsey worked for a Ballroom Dance company in Arizona.  She enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends, dancing, traveling, and discovering new restaurants.

• Wendy Johnson

  Marketing Assistant

  Wendy has a BA in Business Administration and Accounting from Augustana College, IL. Wendy loves the Colorado mountains and spends her free time enjoying all sports with her family.

• John Sereda

  Strategic Relationship Management Associate

  John has a BA from the University of Colorado at Boulder in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology. Prior to join Novus Biologicals John spent some time at Sirna Therapeutics in Boulder with the dermatology group. John enjoys spending his free time with his wife, hiking in the summer and snowshoeing in the winter.

• Shelly Mostue

  Strategic Relationship Management Assistant

  Prior to starting at Novus in 2009 Shelly worked in medical records at a hospital for eight years.  In her free time Shelly enjoys cooking and hanging out with her son, Anthony.

• Andrew Pino

  Strategic Relationship Management Assistant

  Andrew is currently pursuing a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry at The Metropolitan State College of Denver.  He loves to spend time with friends.  Activities Andrew enjoys are barbequing, board games, road trips, and loves night life.  He has a beautiful pug named Pretzel.  In his spare time, Andrew is a freelance artist and is always working on someone's car.

• Justin Roszelle

  Senior Web Developer

  Prior to joining the Novus team, Justin had 10 years of web application development experience.  He has worked with notable Fortune 500 clients such as Sony Pictures, Sony Vaio, Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, and Western Union where he was responsible for architecting, database design, development and integration for delivering high-end, interactive web-based solutions and rich internet applications leveraging leading technology and effective design patterns.

• Zach Brooks

  Web Developer

  Zach has been developing websites since high school.  Starting with a fascination with HTML, he branched out quickly in more robust programming languages.  In his free time he enjoys reading, drawing, cooking and spending time with friends.

• Rob Kunz

  IT Generalist

  Rob has a BS in Management Information Systems from Oregon State University. Prior to joining Novus, Rob worked IT, Support and Engineering with Intuit, M2M Datacorp, and Symantec Corp. In his spare time, Rob enjoys spending time with his son, snowboarding, playing guitar, music, movies, sports and traveling.

• Brandon Kelton

  Database Developer

  Brandon Kelton has extensive experience in database and application development and technical support. Prior to Novus, he worked for medical hardware and software supplier McKesson where he designed and developed a training, risk, and quality management application now used throughout the company. He is currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science. Outside of work he enjoys going out with friends, watching the new Battlestar Galactica, spending time with family, going to movies, and playing with his dogs.

• Lindsey Buffy

  Accounts Receivable Representive

  Lindsey started her career in Accounting with Novus Biologicals.  Previous to starting at Novus in 2007, she was working for Arapahoe county Probations as a Case Aid.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her kids, traveling, and trying out new restaurants.

• Geoff Loadman

  Staff Accountant

  Geoff was born in London, England.  He graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a Bachelors in Accounting and Finance.  Geoff married his wife in 2005 and they lived in the Cayman Islands for 2.5 years, before moving to the US in 2008.  Outside of work, Geoff enjoys all sports, but his time is taken up with his two kids, ages 3 and 1.  He also has two pets, Bob and Fred, very low maintenance - they are goldfish.

• Julie Nishida

  Accounting Assistant

  Julie has a BS in Business Administration and a minor in Spanish from Colorado State University.  She joined the staff at Novus Biologicals in 2008.  In her spare time she enjoys reading, spending time with her husband, three kids, and two dogs, and loves traveling.

• Meggie Buckley

  International Customer Service Representative

  Meggie joined Novus in 2006 to handle customer service relationships. Prior to joining Novus Meggie lived in San Diego working for a pharmaceutical company. Meggie has attended courses at Metro State University. In her spare time Meggie enjoys going to Bronco games and traveling.

  Ashley began with Novus in 2008.  She enjoys being outside, all sporting events and spending time with friends and family.

• Alex Campbell

  Customer Service Representative (Novus Europe)

  Alex recently finished High School where he studied Math, Biology, and Chemistry.  His favorite past-times are pool/snooker, chess, basketball, watching movies and watching NFL games on TV.

• David Stegemeier

  Technical Support Representative

  David has a B. S. in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry from Santa Clara University. Prior to joining Novus, he worked as a technical support representative for a small biological company. In his free time, David enjoys living life to its fullest.

• Marley Shipps

  Technical Support Representative

  Marley holds a BS in Biology from Colorado State University.  Marley worked in the lab for seven years as a professional research assistant in Cellular and Molecular biology.  Marley also spent a year as the Director of Marketing for a small Boulder, Colorado based chiropractic office prior to her career in antibody technical support.  In her free time, you can most likely find Marley running on the track or trail.  Otherwise, she enjoys spending time with her horse, Dakota, Siamese cats Bamboo and General Tso or climbing and mountaineering with her fiancé, Joe.

• David Kuroki

  Laboratory Technician

  David has a BA in Biology from Oberlin College. Before joining Novus in 2008 David worked as a research scientist at the University of Minnesota for a number of years. In his free time he enjoys reading, origami and crossword puzzles.

• Emily Lindberg

  Laboratory Technician

  Emily has a BS in biology from The University of Colorado at Denver. She started working at Novus in 2008. Emily has several years experience working in customer service in the banking industry. In her free time she enjoys camping, live music and sports.

• Sam Garcia

  Receiving Coordinator/Lab Technician

  Sam has a BA in Biology and Anthropology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Prior to working at Novus, she was a research assistant at a small biological company. Outside of work, Sam enjoys dancing, hiking, writing and listening to music, and photography.
