Note: Not all species have been tested for usefulness with this product. Only those species listed have been tested. We cannot make any guarantees about additional reactivities which may or may not occur.
NB 400-113 reacts with mouse SR-BI. It can block human SR-BI/Cla-1 (tested in HepG2 cells).
Applications:
Uses:
NB 400-113 may be used for immunoprecipitation and for blocking the binding of ligands to SR-BI. This lot has not been used for Flow Cytometry, however previous lots have been used. This antibody does not work well for western analysis. We recommend NB 400-101, NB 400-104 or NB 400-131 for Western Blot analysis.
This product is unpurified. Concentration is not relevant.

This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Products are guaranteed for 6 months from date of receipt, except for peptides and proteins which are guaranteed for 3 months.
High density lipoproteins (HDLs) play a critical role in cholesterol metabolism and their plasma concentrations are inversely correlated with risk for atherosclerosis. The SR-BI binds HDLs and mediates selective uptake of HDL cholesteryl ester. SR-BI binds HDL with high affinity, is expressed primarily in liver and nonplacental steroidgenic tissues, and mediates selective cholesterol uptake by a distinct mechanism.
In mice, it seems that SR-BI plays a key role in determining the levels of plasma lipoprotein cholesterol and the accumulation of cholesterol stores in the adrenal gland.
Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: SR-BI Antibody [NB400-113] - Detection of SR-BI (Green) in Hela cells using NB400-113 at a 1:50 Dilution. Nuclei (Blue) were counterstained using Hoechst 33258.
Western Blot: SR-BI Antibody [NB400-113] - Westerm blot detection of SR-BI (80kDa) in mouse testis lysate total protein using NB400-113.
