Summary:
Clonality: Polyclonal
Specificity: ACOX2
Purity: Immunogen affinity purified
Host: Goat
Details:
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide, C-QWAQKSPTNTQENP, representing the internal region (near the C Terminus) of the human sequence according to NP_003491.1
Epitope: QWAQKSPTNTQENP
Isotype: IgG
Gene Symbol: ACOX2
Entrez: 8309 (Human)
Swiss Prot: NP_003491.1 (Human)
Background:
The product of this gene belongs to the acyl-CoA oxidases family. It encodes the branched-chain acyl-CoA oxidase which is involved in the degradation of long branched fatty acids and bile acid intermediates in peroxisomes. Deficiency of this enzyme results in the accumulation of branched fatty acids and bile acid intermediates, and may lead to Zellweger syndrome, severe mental retardation and death in children.
Species:
Rabbit, Human
Reactivity: Human and Rabbit. .
*Note not all species have been tested for reactivity. Only those species listed have been tested. We cannot make any guarantees about additional reactivities or cross reactivities beyond those that have been tested. This antibody may or may not react with other species.
Applications:
WB, ELISA
Uses: This antibody is useful for Peptide ELISA and Western Blot. Approx 75kDa band observed in Human Liver lysates (calculated MW of 76.8kDa according to NP_003491.1). An additional band of 37kDa was consistently observed, however this band was not blocked by the immunizing peptide and it is therefore a non-specific signal. We call for caution when used for other assays than Western blot.
Dilutions: ELISA 1:4000, Western Blot 0.5-1.5µg/ml
Positive Controls:
Packaging:
Storage: Aliquot and store at -20C or -80C. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Buffer: Tris-saline [ pH7.3] with 0.5% BSA
Preservative: 0.02% Sodium Azide
Concentration: 0.5 mg/ml
Limitations: This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Products are guaranteed for 6 months from date of receipt, except for peptides and proteins which are guaranteed for 3 months.
