This gene encodes the insulin receptor substrate 2, a cytoplasmic signaling molecule that mediates effects of insulin, insulin-like growth factor 1, and other cytokines by acting as a molecular adaptor between diverse receptor tyrosine kinases and downstream effectors. The product of this gene is phosphorylated by the insulin receptor tyrosine kinase upon receptor stimulation, as well as by an interleukin 4 receptor-associated kinase in response to IL4 treatment.
Western Blot: IRS2 Antibody [NB100-68244] - Detection of Human IRS2 by Western Blot of Immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-IRS2 antibody NB100-68244 used for IP at 3 mcg/mg lysate. IRS2 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-IRS2 antibodies NB100-68242 and NB100-68243, which recognize upstream epitopes. Detection: Chemiluminescence with exposure times of 3 seconds (A) and 10 seconds (B).
