GOLGA6 Antibody Summary:
Applications:PEP-ELISA
Clonality:Polyclonal
Gene:GOLGA6A
Purity:Immunogen affinity purified
Host:Goat

Publications:Antibody has at least 1 Background Reference.
Note: Not all species have been tested for usefulness with this product. Only those species listed have been tested. We cannot make any guarantees about additional reactivities which may or may not occur.
GOLGA6 Antibody Details:
Isotype:IgG
Immunogen:Synthetic peptide: C-DLPKEKADGTEQ, representing the internal region of the human protein according to NP_061122.4; NP_001033729.1
Species Reactivity:

Human.

Applications:
Uses:Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:1000. Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 45kDa band in human liver lysates after 1ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 79.9kDa according to NP_001033729.1. The 45kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. GeneID 55889 may be a pseudogene, while GeneID 342096 is thought to encode a functional protein. We would appreciate any feedback from people in the field - have any results been reported with other antibodies/lysates? Have any further splice variants/modified forms been reported?
Dilutions:Peptide ELISA 1:32000
Unit Size:0.1 mg
Concentration:0.5 mg/ml
Notes:
Please note, this antibody is considered “Innovators Grade”. Innovators Grade antibodies are generally unvalidated and require additional characterization for most new species/applications. Background:

GOLGA6 is a member of the golgin family of proteins, whose members localise to the Golgi appartus. This gene is found in a large, low copy repeat sequence or duplicon that is found in multiple copies, that are greater than 90% similar, on chromosome 15. Duplicons are associated with deletions, inversions and other chromosome rearrangements that underlie genomic disease. The protein encoded by this gene is thought to be a functional golgin protein while the majority of the related copies of this gene are thought to be transcribed pseudogenes.
