We have tested this by Western blotting on Hela Nuclear lysate, we detected 2 bands at just over 50kD, but no band at 83kD (expected height based on data from other antibodies).
Note: Not all species have been tested for usefulness with this product. Only those species listed have been tested. We cannot make any guarantees about additional reactivities which may or may not occur.

This protein belongs to the EGR family of C2H2-type zinc-finger proteins. It is a nuclear protein and functions as a transcriptional regulator. The products of target genes it activates are required for differentitation and mitogenesis. Studies suggest this is a cancer suppresor gene.
Western Blot: Egr1 Antibody [NB600-873] - Western blot using Affinity Purified anti-EGR-1 antibody shows detection of a predominant band at ~58 kDa corresponding to EGR-1 present in mouse embryonic fibroblast whole cell lysate (arrowhead). Approximately 35 ug of lysate was separated by 4-20% SDS-PAGE and transferred onto nitrocellulose. After blocking the membrane was probed with the primary antibody diluted to 1:1,500. Reaction occurred 2h at room temperature followed by washes and reaction with a 1:10,000 dilution of IRDye800 conjugated Gta- Rabbit IgG [H&L] MX (611-132-122) for 45 min at room temperature. IRDye800 fluorescence image was captured using the Odyssey Infrared Imaging System developed by LI-COR. IRDye is a trademark of LI-COR, Inc. Other detection systems will yield similar results.
Immunohistochemistry: Egr1 Antibody [NB600-873] - Immunohistochemistry. Affinity Purified anti-EGR-1 antibody was used at a 10 ug/ml to detect nuclear and cytoplasmic signal with low background staining in a variety of tissues including multi-human, multi-brain and multi-cancer slides. Within the multi-tumor block, the antibody showed variable levels of nuclear and cytoplasmic staining between individual tumors, with some tumors showing moderate staining. This image shows EGR-1 staining of human ovarian carcinoma. Tissue was formalin-fixed and paraffin embedded.
