Cdk2 (Cyclin dependent kinase 2) belongs to the Ser/Thr protein kinase superfamily, CDC2/CDKX subfamily, and predicted molecular weight 34 kD. Cdk2 is most active during S phase and G2, and plays a critical role in cell division control in eukaryotes. Cdk2 has been shown to interacts with Cyclins A, B1, B3, D, or E. Cdk2 associates with Cyclin E to drive cells from G1 to S phase through phosphorylation of a limited number of targets including pRb. Cyclin A associates mainly with Cdk2 during S phase and G2, and has been implicated in the control of S phase. The Poly66332 antibody has been shown to be useful for western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunohistochemistry of nbsp human, mouse, and rat Cdk2 protein.
