Background: The product of this gene is a core component of the exon junction complex (EJC), a protein complex that is deposited on spliced mRNAs at exon-exon junctions and functions in nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD). The encoded protein binds RNA and interacts with two other EJC core components. It is predominantly located in the cytoplasm, but shuttles into the nucleus where it localizes to nuclear speckles.

CASC3 Antibody Images (1) Western Blot: CASC3 Antibody [NBP1-30321]-Whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-CASC3 used for IP at 3 mcg/mg lysate. CASC3 was also immunoprecipitated by another rabbit anti-CASC3 antibody, which recognizes a downstream epitope. |
