Gene Symbol: ABI1

Background:

The protein encoded by this gene has been found to form a complex with EPS8 and SOS1, and is thought to be involved in the transduction of signals from Ras to Rac. In addition, the encoded protein may play a role in the regulation of EGF-induced Erk pathway activation as well as cytoskeletal reorganization and EGFR signaling. Several transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been found for this gene. Transcript Variant: This variant (4) lacks two alternate in-frame coding exons compared to variant 1. The resulting isoform (d) has the same N- and C-termini but is shorter compared to isoform a. Publication Note: This RefSeq record includes a subset of the publications that are available for this gene. Please see the Entrez Gene record to access additional publications. This product is distributed on behalf of Biosensis Pty. Ltd. of Australia.
